Myofunctional Therapy at Peninsula Myo
Myofunctional therapy is like physical therapy for the mouth and face. It helps retrain the muscles of the tongue, lips, jaw, and face to support healthier breathing, tongue posture, lip seal, swallowing, and oral function.
The goal is to help the mouth function the way it was designed to: breathing through the nose, lips resting together, tongue resting gently on the palate, and swallowing without strain or compensation.
At Peninsula Myo, treatment begins with a comprehensive exam where we review your medical and dental history, take photos, discuss your concerns, and identify your goals. From there, we create a personalized therapy plan based on your needs.
Treatment may include simple exercises, habit training, breathing awareness, tongue and lip coordination, swallowing support, and guidance before or after a tongue-tie release when appropriate. Because every person is different, therapy is tailored to the individual and may include collaboration with other specialists as part of a team based approach.
Our goal is to support healthy function in a way that feels clear, manageable, and personalized helping you build better patterns for breathing, resting, eating, and sleeping.
Breathe Better. Rest Better. Function Better.
Personalized therapy to support nasal breathing, lip seal, tongue posture, and long-term oral wellness.
